As the sun provides the primary living force, soul in the body, Moon provides the second most important organs in the body Heart, lungs, blood, consciousness to the body, you might have heard about brain dead people alive on ventilators but a person can’t live if the heart stops pumping. That’s why Moon is a very important planet, lungs provide oxygen to the body and blood carries it to all parts of the body when the heart pumps it. As its secondary light in the solar system, it represents eyesight. As the sun is considered as a father, Moon is considered as the mother of all planets, due to its importance in the solar system. Its mother Karak and planet has nurturing nature, social values, artistic mind. All the emotions are controlled by the moon, mensuration cycle in women’s and it also contributes to sperm production. This planet is a water element planet, control water level in the body and on earth, it increases kalpha in body, its white in the color planet and rules over white color things in world Milk, rice, farming, botany, landscaping. This is a planet that is treated like a queen, so it likes all the luxuries of life, it's mostly involved in artistic and household things. This planet tends to become very aggressive and violent as we can see in ancient text Moon had one of the greatest wars with Jupiter.

In yoga, it’s said if Soul, heart, and mind are aligned in the body , a person has the power to do anything.

Now let’s understand the behavior of the Moon.

If the king rules the land of the kingdom, queens rule the heart of the people of the kingdom by nurturing, listening, and creating social bonds. A calm, sensitive, and intelligent queen provides security to the audience as sensitive matters can be discussed with queens (queens are more approachable), Queen helps the king to rule in their absence and low times, so they have governing nature also, they are Diplomatic and can handle any situations through their polite & humble nature. People with strong Chandra are calm people, polite, relaxed, listen and find solutions. Truth, justice, mercy, empathy, and fairness are their traits.

Queens always need their comfort environment around them, they like royal treatment - wine, silk, interior, etc. Due to mother nature, they don’t have enemies and love animals, children, water, landscapes, and respect gurus and saints.

The mythological story of the moon /chandra

Moon was born to rishi Attri, and he did raj suegya yagya. Through which he gained power over seven lokas and became so beautiful that wives of other devta became attracted to him and he accepted them as his wife’s. he kidnapped Tara, wife of brihaspati. Which led to war against the moon known as tarakamaya sangraam. In the end, Brahma intertwined and stopped the war. The moon had to return tara, but she was pregnant with Budha or mercury. In this way, mercury was conceived with the moon but was brought up by Jupiter/ brahspati. But the moon was also cursed by Brahma because being a very calm person/planet he did something very opposite of his nature, so during Krishna paksha moon will be considered as malefic planet and Shukla paksha good planet.

Attracted to the charm of the moon after sugya Yagya, twenty-seven daughters of Prajapati Daksha fell in love with the moon and married him. Moon loved just Rohini out of twenty-seven daughters of Daksha, together known as Nakshatra went to their father's house and complained. Daksha repeatedly warned his son-in-law to devote himself equally to all twenty-seven wives and asked him to come to take them back, but the moon didn’t go back to take them back. Daksha thereupon cursed Moon that he would gradually fade away. Moon didn't know what to do. He sought advice from Brahma and told him that the only recourse was to pray to Shiva. Chandra went to Prabhasa tirtha and made a linga on the banks of the river Sarasvati. He prayed to Shiva for six months. At the end of the tapasya Shiva appeared before Chandra and offered to grant him a boon. Chandra explained what the problem was. Well, said Shiva, Daksha's curse cannot be entirely ignored. Let us have a compromise. During Krishna paksha, you will wane. And during Shukla paksha (the bright part of the lunar fortnight) you will wax. That should satisfy everybody. Chandra was delighted. The linga to which Chandra prayed is Somantha, the first of the jyotirlingas. Shiva is always present at that tirtha.

Some stories also say he came out of ocean churning/ Samudra Manthan.
